XPEL PPF in Dubai: Price, Warranty and How to Check It Is Genuine

XPEL is the paint protection film most Dubai owners ask for by name, and it is the top tier Washii fits: full-body XPEL starts at AED 18,000 for a mid-size car and AED 20,000 for a large vehicle or SUV, with a matte finish adding AED 2,000. Free vehicle recovery to and from the fitting is included anywhere in the UAE, and the car is with us 5-7 business days. What follows is what that money actually buys, what the 10-year warranty does and does not promise in this climate, and how to verify the film on your car is genuine XPEL rather than something that merely looks like it.

    What XPEL costs in Dubai

    • XPEL (Ultimate) full body — from AED 18,000 for a mid-size car, AED 20,000 for a large vehicle or SUV.
    • Matte or satin finish — adds AED 2,000.
    • Free UAE-wide vehicle recovery both ways — Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and beyond, at no additional charge.
    • Turnaround — 5-7 business days from collection to delivery.

Every figure above is for the entire car, every painted panel. That is the number worth holding onto when you compare quotes, because the market advertises PPF from around AED 3,500 and that price buys a partial front kit — bonnet, front bumper and headlights. Our PPF cost guide sets out the full ladder of coverage levels and what each one really includes.

What makes XPEL different from cheaper film

All genuine self-healing PPF is thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) with an elastomeric topcoat: light scratches and swirls flow back out of the surface with heat, which in Dubai means a parked car in the afternoon sun heals itself. The difference between films is not whether they self-heal — it is how long they stay optically clear, how the topcoat handles years of abrasive sand, and how the adhesive behaves after five summers at 45C. XPEL sits at the top of that range, which is why it is the film people name.

    • Optical clarity that holds — the reason people notice a well-filmed car looks wetter, not filmed.
    • A topcoat built to resist staining and the water-spot etching that Dubai sprinkler water causes on hot paint.
    • A 10-year manufacturer film warranty against yellowing, cracking, bubbling and delamination.
    • Self-healing that keeps working through the film's life rather than fading out after a couple of years.

    The 10-year warranty, read honestly

A 10-year film warranty is a manufacturing-defect promise: it covers the film yellowing, cracking, bubbling or lifting because of how it was made. It is not a promise that ten years of Dubai will leave the film as good as new. Warranty years and Dubai years are different things, and any installer who lets you believe otherwise is selling you the certificate rather than the film. A car that lives outside here is usually best re-filmed at around the five-year mark — before the adhesive hardens and removal gets difficult. A garaged, well-maintained car can go meaningfully longer. We set out the reasoning in full in how long PPF really lasts in Dubai.

The part of the system that decides that timeline is not the film at all — it is the adhesive underneath it. Film can look perfect on the surface while the adhesive quietly bakes hard, and hardened adhesive is what makes old PPF risky to remove, because it grips the clear coat instead of releasing cleanly. It is the question worth asking any installer, whatever brand is on the box.

Three checks that the film on your car is genuine XPEL

Counterfeit and relabelled film is a real problem in this market, and it is invisible on day one — a cheap film looks identical to a premium one until the second summer. Three things separate a genuine installation from a claim:

    • A registered warranty in your name, issued by the manufacturer, not a shop-printed certificate. If it cannot be looked up, it is not a warranty.
    • The roll. Ask to see the film going onto your car come off a labelled manufacturer roll. Any honest installer will show you; the answer to that question tells you most of what you need to know.
    • The invoice naming the film and the coverage. "Full-body PPF" on a line item is not a specification — "XPEL, full body, gloss" is.

Custom-cut on the car, not pre-cut from a plotter file

This is where installations actually differ, more than the brand on the roll. Most shops feed your model into plotter software and cut the panels from a database template. It is fast, and it leaves visible seams and a film edge that stops short of the panel edge, because the template has to be conservative enough to fit every trim variant of that model. We cut on the car instead: the film is trimmed to your specific panels, wrapped around edges where the panel allows, so there is no line where protection stops and bare paint begins. It takes longer, and it is the difference between a car that looks protected and one that just looks like paint.

XPEL is applied indoors — so we collect the car

No PPF, XPEL or otherwise, should ever be applied in a driveway or a tower car park. A single speck of dust trapped under the film is permanent, and no outdoor space in Dubai can be kept clean enough. Washii's mobile crew washes and details at your door, and PPF is the one service we deliberately do not do on-site: we collect the car, apply the film in a controlled indoor environment, and deliver it back — free recovery both ways, anywhere in the UAE. If an installer offers to do PPF at your villa, that is the end of the conversation. Here is why the indoor requirement is not negotiable.

What happens before and after fitting

    • Paint inspection first. PPF is clear, so any existing swirl, scratch or poor previous respray stays visible underneath it. Anything that needs correcting is quoted before the film is ordered, not discovered after the car is in.
    • Eight days before the first wash, so the film fully cures.
    • A quality inspection one week after delivery — the car comes back in and we go over the film edge by edge.
    • An annual refresh every year after that: water spots, high-wear zones and any edge starting to lift, caught while they are still small.

Should you choose XPEL, or is a lower tier enough?

XPEL is the right answer when you plan to keep the car for years, or when it is expensive enough that the difference between a good film and a great one is small against the value of the paint. If your priority is full-body protection at the best value, ONYX starts at AED 14,000 and is genuine self-healing film, not a compromise on the fundamentals. KDX sits between them at AED 16,000. We compare all four films we fit — including VZN coloured film — in the best PPF in Dubai.

How much does XPEL PPF cost in Dubai?

At Washii, full-body XPEL starts at AED 18,000 for a mid-size car and AED 20,000 for a large vehicle or SUV. A matte or satin finish adds AED 2,000. The price covers every painted panel, not a partial front kit, and includes free vehicle recovery both ways anywhere in the UAE.

Is XPEL worth the extra over cheaper PPF?

On a car you plan to keep, usually yes — the difference shows up in optical clarity years in, topcoat resistance to Dubai sand and water spots, and how the film behaves at removal. If value matters more, ONYX at AED 14,000 is genuine self-healing film and a real option, not a compromise on the fundamentals. What is never worth it is budget PVC film sold as a cheap full-body wrap.

Does XPEL PPF have a 10-year warranty in the UAE?

Yes — premium self-healing film carries a 10-year manufacturer warranty against yellowing, cracking, bubbling and delamination. It is a manufacturing-defect promise, not a guarantee of ten Dubai summers. A car parked outside here is usually best re-filmed around the five-year mark, before the adhesive hardens and removal gets difficult.

How can I tell if the PPF on my car is really XPEL?

Three checks: a manufacturer-registered warranty in your name that can be looked up, seeing the film come off a labelled manufacturer roll during installation, and an invoice that names the film and the coverage rather than saying "full-body PPF". Counterfeit film is invisible on day one and obvious by the second summer.

Can XPEL be installed at my home in Dubai?

No, and no reputable installer will offer to. Paint protection film has to go on in a controlled indoor environment because dust trapped under the film is permanent. Washii collects the car, applies the film indoors, and delivers it back — free recovery both ways anywhere in the UAE, 5-7 business days.

How long does XPEL take to install?

5-7 business days from collection to delivery. The film is custom-cut on your car rather than plotted from a template, which takes longer than a pre-cut kit and is what removes the visible seams and short edges a template leaves behind.
